Ouarzazate is the crossroad city between Marrakech and the South. If you head to the desert of Morocco you will be spending time to Ouarzazate. The city is beautiful base from where you can explore the ksour and kasbahs in Ait Ben Haddou and Skoura. The city is not appealing in itself though. It has been created as garrison and administrative town by the French. It has array of modern hotels set along the main highway.
If you like to shorter some of the traveling distances that are so large in Morocco you can also consider booking flight into Ouarzazate as gateway to the desert and Moroccan South.
