Day 1: Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Ben Haddou
We will collect you from your hotel or riad in Marrakech at 9:00 a.m. and begin our journey into the peaks of the High Atlas Mountains, visible in the background of the city. The views become increasingly impressive as we ascend into the Atlas range. We cross Morocco’s highest road pass, Tizi n’Tichka, reaching an altitude of 2,260 meters and offering spectacular panoramic views.
We then descend into the town of Telouet, where we visit the stunning Kasbah of Telouet. Although the kasbah is in a state of disrepair, the remaining structures are still highly impressive. Continuing along the scenic Ounila Valley, we pass several small villages before reaching Ait Ben Haddou. Here, we explore the UNESCO World Heritage–listed ksar. You will have plenty of time to wander through the winding streets of the kasbah and enjoy the awe-inspiring views. Overnight stay in Ait Ben Haddou. (B, D)
Day 2: Ait Ben Haddou – Todra Gorge – Merzouga (Chebbi Sand Dunes)
Today’s journey takes us across green valleys, dramatic gorges, and finally to the rolling dunes of the Sahara Desert. We begin by passing through the city of Ouarzazate and continue along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Traveling through arid landscapes, the scenery gradually changes as we approach the Skoura Palm Oasis and the Rose Valley, where countless rose bushes bloom between April and May, filling the air with a wonderful fragrance.
We continue through several towns to reach Tinghir and the spectacular Todra Gorge. This impressive canyon cuts through towering mountains, with sheer rock walls rising to 300 meters high. From here, we journey onward into the desert, arriving in Merzouga. Camels are saddled for a trek of approximately two hours into the dunes. Spend the night in a traditional nomad tent, accompanied by Berber guides who will prepare a fresh dinner and may entertain you with traditional drumming. Enjoy an unforgettable night beneath a sky filled with millions of stars. (B, D)
Day 3: Merzouga – Alnif – Nkob – Marrakech
After watching the sunrise over the dunes, we return by camel to Merzouga. Enjoy breakfast and the opportunity to shower before departing for Marrakech. The return journey follows a different route, passing through the volcanic mountains of Jbel Saghro with their striking rock formations, as well as the lush Draa Valley lined with palm trees and small villages.
After reaching Ouarzazate, we cross the High Atlas Mountains once again, arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon, around 6:00–7:00 p.m.
