Day 1: Agadir - Taliouline
Morning pick up from your hotel and set across the citrus-rich plains of Souss Valley to Talouine. On our way, we will make a stop at the lovely town of Taroudant, known as Little Marrakech. We recommend a short walk along the medina. Then we travel to the Safrron capital of Morocco, Taliouine. (B, D)
Day 2: Tailiouline - Foum Zquid - Erg Chigaga
Today, we will be traveling along the Anti-Atlas Mountains of strangely formed mountain ranges. Upon arrival at Foum Zquid, we set out on the off-road in our 4x4 WD vehicle that will take us across a barren area to the dried salt lake bed to the fine dunes of Erg Chgaga. Here we saddle our camels and trek for about 1 hour in the region. Night in tents (B, D)
Day 3: Erg Chigaga - M'hamid - Ouarzazate
The morning we depart from the desert, after breakfast and head off-road this time to M'hamid. Here we meet with the paved road as well as the Draa Valley, a date palm tree-lined river oasis. Just after we pass Zagora, we will view the most precious views of the Valley. Night in Ouarzazate. (B, D)
Day 4: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech
Morning we visit the famous Ksour of Ait Ben Haddou. Once an important place during the salt caravan routes. Today, it remains a magnificent example of the traditional stronghold. After our visit, we head to Marrakech across the dramatic drive over the High Atlas Mountains. We reach Marrakech around lunchtime, where our guide will meet us and take us on a guided walking tour of Marrakech. (B)
Day 5: Marrakech - Agadir
Transfer to Agadir.
Exploring Erg Chigaga:
Erg Chigaga is one of Morocco’s most breathtaking desert landscapes, offering a true taste of the Sahara far from the crowds. Located near the town of M’Hamid, this vast sea of golden dunes stretches for more than 40 kilometers and rises to 300 meters high, creating a dramatic and unforgettable desert experience.
Unlike the more accessible Erg Chebbi, Erg Chigaga feels wild, remote, and untouched. Reaching it is an adventure in itself, often involving a thrilling 4×4 drive across dry riverbeds and rocky plains. Once there, visitors are rewarded with endless dunes, deep silence, and star-filled night skies that feel almost unreal 🌌.
A stay in Erg Chigaga usually includes a traditional desert camp, where you can enjoy Berber hospitality, local music, and freshly prepared Moroccan meals around a campfire. During the day, activities like camel trekking, sandboarding, and dune walks allow you to fully immerse yourself in the desert’s rhythm.
Erg Chigaga is perfect for travelers seeking solitude, authenticity, and natural beauty. It’s a place where time slows down, modern life fades away, and the raw magic of the Sahara truly comes alive.
