LEVEL OF THE EXCURSION

This trek involves no major technical difficulty but requires good physical condition. Daily walking time ranges from 5 to 6 hours, and up to 8 hours on summit day, at a steady pace. Lunch breaks last between 1.5 and 2 hours.

You will carry only a light daypack (water, snacks, camera). All other luggage and food are transported by mules.

In case of minor medical issues (such as sprains), mule assistance can be arranged. The terrain is mountainous and uneven, with long ascents and descents. Physical effort is required, and a good hiking spirit is essential.

The itinerary may be adjusted depending on group fitness levels or weather conditions.

EQUIPMENT TO BRING

Sleeping bag, large duffel bag with zippers (pack light to avoid overloading mules), small day backpack, hiking shoes, sandals or trainers for camp and water crossings, windbreaker, rain jacket, fleece jacket, gloves, personal medication, water bottles (1–2 liters), water purification tablets or bottled water, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat or cheche (scarf), camera, headlamp or torch with spare batteries, toiletries, and personal items.

Notes:

[1] A supplement applies for additional mule use for personal transport.
[2] Cheche: a traditional headscarf used to protect against the sun, cold, and wind.
